Have you heard about that rainbow-coloured laser sword, Our gorgeous straight marriage splitting device? We’re the demon army of your nightmares Trained in do-gooders warfare Campaigning for demon paradise. Run for your life, save your family ‘Cause we are everywhere. It’s somewhat natural that now the future frightens you, But who are we to try and calm you down? You’ve always hung on to the past And now the change is coming fast Even the Queen of Queers has just been crowned. Run for your life, save your family ‘Cause we are everywhere. But listen, Mrs., I am still wond’ring, is it your belief truly That sharing rights means dividing them? And tell me, Mr., do I get it right, is it your worry truly That we’ll turn all your lovely children queer? Then how have we become who we are Looking up at charming role models like you Run for your life, save your family ‘Cause we are everywhere.

about

The anti-homophobia song Run For Your Life combines the British influenced Indie Rock of Hallam London’s upcoming album with Synth Pop for the dancefloor. The song is a sarcastic take on the common homophobic assumption that sharing rights means dividing them. Hallam wrote it in anger after the umpteenth repeat of the perennial debate about marriage equality. And producer Dave Sanderson (Reverend and the Makers, 65daysofstatic) from Sheffield ingeniously unearthed the song’s musical essence as a danceable indie track.
